Air compressor pressure switch

Air compressor pressure switch is mainly used to adjust the start and stop status of the air compressor. By adjusting the pressure in the air tank, the air pressure switch can be stopped and rested, which has a protective effect on the machine.

A compressors always has two pressure set-points: the cut-in and the cut-out set point.

These are simply the two pressures at which the compressor starts and stops. The compressor will stop when it reaches the cut-out pressure by air compressor high pressure switch point and will start again when the pressure drops back to the cut-in pressure by air compressor low pressure switch point.

How does a air compressor pressure switch work ?

After the air compressor is debugged in the factory, the air compressor tank pressure switch can be adjusted to the specified pressure according to the customer’s needs, and then set the differential pressure. For example, when the compressor starts to start, pump air into the air storage tank, when the pressure reaches 7bar(125PIS), the air compressor stops or relieves pressure; when the pressure drops to 5bar(75PSI), the air compressor starts again. There is a pressure difference between them. During this process, the compressor can be stopped to protect the air compressor.

When deciding what the best pressure is for you and your compressor, always remember to set the pressure as low as possible for your application.

Most air compressor set with air compressor pressure switch 120-150 psi(8-10Bar). But if you only need 5 or 6 bar, it’s better to lower the pressure.

How to adjust air compressor pressure switch ?

Different air compressor shut off switch have different adjustment methods.

One is that the pressure difference is fixed by the switch itself, and only the maximum pressure of the automatic shutdown pressure is adjusted. This kind of switch has two knobs for debugging with a flat-blade screwdriver. The two knobs must be adjusted in the same way, otherwise it will stop when it starts, and start again when it stops, which will burn out the electrical appliance.

The other is a regulation starting pressure (low pressure), a regulation stop pressure (high pressure). In this case, just need to set the air compressor switch value.

a. Rotate the pressure adjustment screw clockwise to increase the closing and opening pressures simultaneously.

b. Rotate the pressure adjustment screw counterclockwise, and the closing and opening pressures decrease simultaneously.

Air compressor differential pressure adjustment steps:

a. Rotate the differential pressure adjustment screw clockwise, the closing pressure remains unchanged, and the opening pressure increases.

b. Rotate the differential pressure adjustment screw counterclockwise, the closing pressure remains unchanged, and the opening pressure decreases.

Reminder

1. The pressure switch of the air compressor must be adjusted by professionals according to the wiring diagram for pressure switch on air compressor guidelines, and the general user cannot adjust it arbitrarily.

2. The air compressor has a rated operating pressure, which refers to the pressure when it is disconnected. For example, if the operating pressure of a general air compressor is 8kg/cm³, the maximum pressure when it is disconnected cannot exceed 8kg/cm³.
