In the use of the instrument industry, there are some professional terms that must be known, and we will often encounter them in the process of use:
Medium #
Medium: refers to the measured object of the instrument sensor, generally refers to the medium; the medium includes liquid, gas and solid.
Measurement range #
Measurement range: refers to the effective measurement range of the instrument sensor, other names: range, center distance, measured range, etc.
Primary instrument #
Primary instrument: refers to the instruments installed on the medium site, such as liquid level gauges, flow meters, pressure transmitters, and temperature transmitters.
Secondary instrument #
Secondary instrument: Refers to receiving and displaying the transmission signal of the instrument, such as digital display meter, local display instrument, etc.
Accuracy (precision) #
Accuracy (precision): refers to the degree of consistency between the indication value of the instrument and the true value of the measured [convention].
Ambient temperature #
Ambient temperature: refers to the temperature in the environment where the instrument is installed.
Medium temperature #
Medium temperature: refers to the temperature of the measured medium.
Nominal pressure #
Nominal pressure: refers to the highest pressure resistance of the fittings connected to the installed pipeline or container.
Working pressure #
Working pressure: refers to the maximum pressure generated by the medium in the pipeline or container.
Design pressure #
Design pressure: refers to the maximum pressure that the pipeline or container can withstand in an instant.
