Unlike ozone in the atmosphere, near-ground ozone is a harmful gas and a secondary pollutant. It is mainly derived from a series of nitrogen oxide gases (NOx) and volatile organic compounds (VOC) released by internal combustion engines, power plant emissions, automobile exhaust and industrial emissions, which are by-products of burning gasoline and coal . Under high temperature weather conditions with strong ultraviolet rays in late spring, summer and early autumn, NOx and VOC chemically react with oxygen to form ozone sensor.
Today, as one of the key control items of the “Ambient Air Quality Standard”, ozone has become a “stumbling block” for my country to win the battle to defend the blue sky. It is imminent to suppress the production of ozone and reduce the concentration of ozone. Regarding ozone, the control standard of the new national standard is based on the 8-hour daily average concentration of 100 micrograms/cubic meter for the first level and 160 micrograms/cubic meter for the second level, and is included in the standard for monitoring.
How to detect the concentration of ozone pollution
In order to accurately monitor ozone gas, effectively reduce the concentration of ozone, and continuously improve the quality of the atmospheric environment, SenTec independently developed an ozone sensor (model: SEM326) to monitor the concentration of ozone in the air. The sensor adopts the electrochemical detection principle, the response is fast and sensitive, and the ozone concentration can be detected reliably. When ozone diffuses into the sensor, a reduction reaction occurs at the working electrode, an oxidation reaction occurs at the counter electrode, and a tiny current is formed between the counter electrode and the working electrode. This current is proportional to the ozone concentration entering the sensor within a certain range. After treatment, the ozone content was calculated.
