What is a external ultrasonic tank level sensor ?
The External Ultrasonic Tank Level Sensor adopts the sonar echo ranging principle. It overcomes the influence of the tank wall on the transmission of ultrasonic signals. It adopts advanced digital signal processing technology. It can truly realize non-contact, high-precision measurement of the liquid level in the tank.
The ultrasonic liquid level sensor (probe) is installed directly under the outer wall (bottom) of the container under test. Calibrate the outer wall of the probe. There is no need to open holes for the container to be tested, easy to install, and does not affect production.It can accurately measure the level of various toxic substances, strong acids, strong alkalis, and various pure liquids in high-pressure airtight containers.
The External Ultrasonic Tank Level Sensor can output 4-20mA standard signals or output the measurement results to the upper computer (or secondary meter) through the RS-485 interface. It can meet the automatic control of the system.

As shown in the figure, when measuring the liquid level, the sonar wave signal is emitted from the probe, and the echo signal is detected by the probe after being reflected back by the liquid surface. The echo signal is processed by a proprietary algorithm to calculate the time t, and the system calculates the liquid level height according to the formula.

How to use an ultrasonic level sensor measures the liquid gas oil level in the tank?
*If the tank has an opening, we can use an integrated ultrasonic level sensor.
*If the tank level signal needs to be transmitted remotely, we can use a split ultrasonic level sensor.
*If the tank cannot be opened. You can use External Mounted Ultrasonic Tank Level Sensor.
*If the tank is small, such as a CO2 tank, a portable ultrasonic level indicator can be used.
1. Container tank
*Spherical, vertical, horizontal and other shapes
*It is required to have a probe installation space of 200mm long, 200mm deep and 300mm high directly under the container
*There is no solid structure (transverse partition, leakage plate, column, stirring) and other barriers between the installation position of the measuring probe and the highest liquid level of the liquid
*The tank wall at the bottom of the container (where the measuring probe is installed)≤100mm
*The tank wall at the bottom of the container (where the measuring probe is installed) has no lining or gas interlayer
*The tank wall at the bottom of the container (where the measuring probe is installed) is made of hard materials, such as carbon steel, 16MnR, 304, 316, glass fiber reinforced plastic, hard rubber, etc.
2. Measured medium
*The dynamic viscosity of the liquid medium to be measured is less than 50mPa s (cP)
*The liquid has no serious sedimentation, crystallization and self-aggregation
*The liquid can not suspend a large amount of solids and deposit a large amount of sediment, can not be an emulsion, and can not have a large number of air bubbles
*The liquid to be tested is preferably a single liquid or a compatible mixture. If it is two or more immiscible liquids, an obvious interface will be formed, so the instrument should be specially set.
3. Medium temperature
The temperature of the measured place is determined by the temperature of the tank wall at the bottom of the container (where the measuring probe is installed) to determine the appropriate probe.
