SEM226VP series offers optional modules for weather phenomenon detection—capable of identifying precipitation types (such as rain and snow) and distinguishing between intensities like drizzle, light rain, moderate rain, and heavy rain—as well as optional precipitation modules to measure rainfall intensity and accumulation, providing a versatile, multi-functional solution.
They feature a robust yet simple structure, excellent operational stability, high reliability, low power consumption, and ease of maintenance. It operates on a DC 12–30V power supply and includes an automatic heating control module for the optical lenses, ensuring normal operation even in extreme conditions such as severe cold.
The SEM226VP-A model features a stainless-steel housing, making it ideally suited for high-salinity, humid environments such as ships, drilling platforms, and coastal areas. To meet the demands of hazardous environments containing flammable gases, the series also includes the explosion-proof SEM226VP-AD model—currently the only explosion-proof visibility sensor available on the market.
The SEM226VP-B model utilizes a cast-aluminum housing that is both durable and lightweight, making it suitable for installation along highways. Its extremely compact and portable design also allows for installation on high-speed moving vehicles.
