Ultrasonic level sensor
The ultrasonic level sensor, also called ultrasonic level transmitter, ultrasonic level gauge which is a kind of non-contact ultrasonic level measurement of non-foaming chemical, water, wastewater and petroleum based liquids in ambient tank or sump applications.

Ultrasonic level sensor model
The ultrasonic level sensor working principle which is emits a high frequency acoustic pulse from its ultrasonic transducer. The pulse travels through the air gap, reflects against the liquid surface and returns to the transducer. The ultrasonic level sensor measures the pulse time of flight and converts this into level height or distance.
Both the ultrasonic level transmitter and radar level transmitter provide reliable non-contact level measurement in general purpose and intrinsically safe versions. They are not easily affected by the viscosity and density of the measuring medium.
However, Radar signals travel much faster than Ultrasonic sound waves. The ultrasonic level sensor sound waves need air to travel through – this means that anything that travels through the air also affects the ultrasonic sound signal; for example, wind, temperature, vapours or gases. Radar level transmitter is also much more reliable in the presence of build up.
Even though, the ultrasonic level sensor still a popular and cost solutions to detect level for water tanks, diesel tank, solids, wastewater etc.
