What is a FMCW radar level meter?

The frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar level meter antenna transmits a frequency modulated continuous wave signal (76~81GHz), which propagates in space at the speed of light. When it encounters the surface of the measured medium, part of its energy is reflected back, received by the same antenna, and received by the antenna. The echo signal and the transmitted signal are mixed, and the frequency of the output intermediate frequency signal is proportional to the distance after mixing, so as to calculate the distance from the antenna to the surface of the measured medium.
