In recent years, with the rapid development of wireless sensor networks, and people put forward strict requirements for environmental protection and environmental monitoring, major enterprises and institutions began to spend more time and energy on the application of wireless sensor networks in environmental monitoring systems. After setting many cheap miniature sensor nodes in the monitoring area, the wireless communication method is used to constitute a multi-hop network system, and then achieve the combination of information acquisition, quantification, processing and transmission of sensing objects in the network coverage area. In this paper, the concept, application value, characteristics and specific applications of wireless sensor networks are briefly analyzed.
